Midan City Resort Complex

In March 2014, the South Korean government granted a provisional license to LOCZ Korea, a joint venture between Hong Kong-Indonesia conglomerate Lipo and Caesars Entertainment, to build a complex resort casino on Yeongjong Island. The casino will be located in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, about 10 km (6 miles) from Incheon International Airport and 40 km (24 miles) from downtown Seoul.

This was the country's first permission for a foreign company months later, following an award for a joint venture between Korea's Paradise and Japan's Sammi Sega to be built on Yeongjong Island. 온라인경마

Caesars is expected to manage all of its gaming activities and Lippo's various units will be involved in other issues, including real estate for the $700 million project. The full build-out price tag is expected to reach $2.2 billion.

The project will have 1.5 million square feet of floor space on more than 10 acres of land. The first phase, which is expected to open before the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, includes two hotels and one casino. On completion (no scheduled date), an additional hotel will be added along with conventions, conference halls, shopping malls, etc.

Casinos will be used only by foreign visitors unless the law is revised, and there is only one casino for Koreans in Gangwon Land.
